38 Weeks & Here comes Baby Bella!!!!

I had a doctors appointment Monday to have my blood pressure checked.  It was high so the doctor told me to go get my bags and head to the hospital.  Ryan took the day off anticipating the bad news.  So we headed to the hospital to be induced.  Monday night they gave me medication to thin my cervix.  We didn't get ver much sleep.  Tuesday morning at 6 they gave me pitocin to start my contractions.  By noon my water broke naturally and Ryan went out to tell the nurses.  They were excited Ryan was terrified!  My contractions were getting stronger but I was not dilating at all.  My doctor came to check me and said I wasn't even at a 1.  He suggested a C-section.  Ryan and I were scared to death.  I cried.  They got me ready for surgery and handed Ryan his scrubs.  I walked to the operating room and told the anesthesiologist I was feeling sick.  He gave me some meds. before he did a spinal.  Everything happend so quickly.  Family came to the hospital and Ryan barely made it into the operating room in time.  Ryan watched the entire surgery and didn't pass out or puke.  Baby Bella wasn't ready to come out yet.  When the doctor opened me up and reached in to get her she decided to hide up by my ribs.  The doctor couldn't reach her so he  had to suction her out.   They finally got her out and she was born at 6:08p.m. on October 18th, 2011.  She was 5 pounds 13 ounces and 18 inches long.  After the nurses cleaned her up Ryan brought her over to me.  Love at first sight!  We then went to the recovery room where we sat for 2 hours because I couldn't move my legs.  The family didn't get to see her until 8p.m.  After everyone went home I passed out and Ryan watched Bella.  I woke up at 4 a.m. and Ryan said it was my turn to watch Bella.  After a few days in the hospital they finally let us go home Friday.  After 4 long years we are finally a family of three.

Welcome Home Bella!  We love you!!!

36 Weeks!

36weeks
4 weeks to go!   Yay!!!  It's been a busy last couple of weeks.  This last week we got the crib.  Ryan and I also took a tour of the hospital after the last getting ready for baby class.  I also had a doctors appointment this week.  Everything seems to be on the rise including my weight.  I will now start my weekly doctors appointments!  The babies heart beat was 145.  She was very active but there was a heartbeat.  Ryan is enjoying playing with her.  He pushes on my stomach to make her move and then he almost pukes when she does.  As of now my belly button is still in but Ryan swears it's going to pop out when I laugh.
The last couple of weeks have been busy so here are some pictures of what's been happening.
Here are a few pictures from the baby shower!

33 Weeks

So glad this week is over and hoping next week is better.  I had a doctors appointment this week.  The babies heart rate was 150bpm.  Everything looked good but my blood pressure is high again so he wants me to come back next week.  Ugggghh!  I have a pretty good idea of why my blood pressure is up and I'm trying to fix the problem.  Ryan is pretty stressed out about delivery and as we get closer and closer the more he freaks out.  As I mentioned before Ryan has decided to make some changes and is trying to get rid of some bad habits so he has not been the friendliest person to live with.  I thought I was handling all of this pretty well but apparently not.  So I told him that he doesn't have to be there with me during delivery if he is going to get this worked up about it.  It is not doing any of us any good.  Hope this weeks doctors appointment goes better.

Baby News:
Sleeping:  Nope.  Heartburn has been really bad this week and is keeping me up.
Movement:  Tons and still kicking my ribs.
Cravings:  None.  Nothing sounds good but it seems like I'm eating all day long.
Worries:  Many but mostly getting my blood pressure under control.

32 Weeks

Whew, what a week.
Ryan and I went to our first baby class.  He had the night off so I made him go with me.  Very entertaining!  Ryan learned a few things.  He learned what a breech and a colic baby is.  He is hoping our baby isn't colicky.  Me too!!!  The teacher asked if there was anything we wanted to learn about and he said,"I'm just worried!"  After watching a few videos he has decided that we should adopt.  Ryan never wanted to before but after figuring things out he thinks it's the best option so then he doesn't have to see the delivery.  The doctor told me last week at my appointment that they have some good drugs to help get me through delivery so I told Ryan that and maybe they have good drugs for dads too.
Ryan and I headed to the farm to see the end of harvest.  I haven't been there since last spring.  Boy did I learn a lot on that trip.  It was pretty warm the day we got there and I knew I might be a little swollen so I packed some wide boots and tennis shoes.  As soon as we got there I felt like Cinderella's ugly step sister trying to shove my fat foot into my boots.  I thought I might go into labor from all the pulling so I moved on to the tennis shoes.  Much better until I tried to tie them.  All the bending over really hurts!  Oh, and it's not a good idea to try and tie shoes when you have to pee!  Day 2, it was chillier that day so I decided to put on my coat that I had brought.  I knew it was going to be a tight fit and I was pretty excited when I got it zipped.  Then I looked up and saw Ryan laughing at me so I looked down at my belly...I broke the zipper!  Rrrrr! I might be in trouble till this baby gets here because it is getting colder and I apparently don't have any winter close that still fit.  I hope it doesn't snow before she gets here!  On the way home I had a little panic attack.  I always pee before we leave and I knew I could make it to the next place that I could go.  Well, we ran into some road construction and we were about half an hour(without road delays) away from the gas station.  I knew my bladder was getting full but I knew I could make it.  Then all of a sudden she decided to use my bladder as a punching bag.  I looked and Ryan and asked,"How much longer?"  He thought I was trying to be funny.  So I let him know I wasn't kidding we might have to stop so I can go.  It wouldn't have been the first time I went on the side of the road but this would have been a little different since we were following a pilot car with a line of cars including a bus full of football players from Malta right behind us and a crew of workers in the next lane.  Thankfully she decided to move so the urge went away.

Baby News
Movement:  Lots of movement this week
Sleeping:  Not so much.  And nap time seems to be back.
Cravings:  Fruit
Worries:  Finding clothes that fit

31 Weeks

I had another doctors appointment this week.  All went well.  I thought I gained a little too much weight but according to the scale at the doctors office I didn't.  Yay!  Then I had a little scare when the doctor couldn't get her heart beat.  This little girl is just like her daddy.  She doesn't sit still!  She even kicked his doppler machine and it made a horrible sound.  The doctor says this is a good thing and I know that it means she is healthy and alive but I have a feeling it won't be such a good thing when she arrives.  Her heart beat was 160bpm.
Ryan is having a rough week.  As we get closer the more he freaks out.  I've read stories about this happening but it's just crazy.  He pushed me over the edge when I asked him to move the bed out of the babies room.  He informed me that it is staying.  "Where are people going to sleep when they come to visit?"  I said, "no one ever stays here and that's what happens when you only have 2 bedrooms."  He says" I have to finish the basement so someone can stay here?"  YES and no one stays here anyway!  Anyway he wasn't happy and not going to move it.  So I'm hoping that once we get the crib in there and everything else he will see that there just isn't enough room.  But that means that for now there won't be any room for the rocking chair and a few other things.  That is like the 20th "NO" he has said to me.  He wants the room decorated but doesn't want to change anything.  I need a tranquilizer for him so I can get this room done.  Decorating is turning out to be not as much fun as I thought it would be.

Baby News:
Movement:  Moving a lot and still likes to put her feet in my ribs.  Ryan finally felt her move.  Mr. Patient usually just puts his hand on my belly for a second expecting to feel something and doesn't.  So I held his hand on my belly and he got to feel her move her foot across my belly.  It was so funny.  I thought he was going to throw up.
Cravings:  A cold cold drink
Sleeping:  No,  way too hot even with the air on.
Worries:  Worried about this heat!  I came up with a great plan though.  I think I am going to start wearing my rain boots and put ice in them.  An ice bath wherever you go!

30 weeks! 10 to GO!!!

Wow I can't believe it...10 weeks and she will be here!  So exciting!

Busy week around here.  I took on a big but much needed project around here.  The crawl space!  The basement is a disaster with all my stuff from school and spare bedroom.  Where are we going to put everything.  I've been going through boxes trying to make some room for things and getting rid of things we don't use.  Surprisingly it was a lot of fun!  I found some boxes with some of my old things including my baby book and some of my old clothes and baby blankets(blanket Grandma made me).  I also went through some tubs of hand-me-downs from the cousins.  I've been storing baby clothes for years now so I decided to finally go through them and found a few things I could use since they are all boy clothes.  Did a few loads of laundry and wow everything is like brand new.  Hope she is like me and her favorite color is going to be blue.  After all the folding of clothes and blankets I put everything in her dresser.  Oh, so much fun!  As of right now the babies room has clothes, blankets, a bassinet, and books(I knew teaching would come in handy).  No crib yet.  Still hoping to put in some new flooring.  Anyways, still so much to do and the growing belly can only take so much bending over.  I've only taken things out of the crawl space and haven't put anything in yet.  So much stuff...where am I going to put it?!  We need a bigger house!!!

Ryan has taken on a big task.  Long ago there were a few goals he wanted to reach before we had kids.  Since I had to give a few things up while pregnant he thinks he should too.  He is doing a great job but lets just say things are a little tense around here.  I'm so proud of him and I hope he keeps it up!

Baby News
**Emotion:**  It has been a rough couple of weeks emotionally!  I am a MESS!  The nieces and nephews are killing me.  New school clothes, senior pictures, tryouts, Little League World Series, last year of school for one and first year of school for another, a friend delivered her baby and a couple others announcing they are expecting.  I know I am an emotional person anyway but I would rather have 9 months of heartburn than all this crying.  I might be spending the next 10 weeks in the psych ward.  BEWARE Emotionally INSANE!
Movement:  Still moving!  I'm not sure what she's doing but she has discovered a few ways to hurt me.  I'm starting to take some rib shots and something else to give me low back pain.
Sleep:  Not so much.  I used to have heartburn before I went to bed but not anymore.  This week I've been waking up at 1, 3, 4am with HeartBURN!
Cravings:  At the beginning of the week I was making alfredo sauce and mom's chicken cordon blue(both very rich) and now all I want is salad.
Worries:  Still delivery!

29 Weeks

Another picture
Summer 2010
NOW look at us!
Summer 2011
Becky(due Oct 8th), Kristy(due Oct. 4th), Me(due Oct. 29th)
There must have been something in the water!  This picture is from last weekend at Kristy's baby shower so I was 28 weeks.

So this week I had another Dr.'s appointment.  I made Ryan go with me since he wasn't working.  What a treat that was!  Ryan hasn't really liked to touch my growing belly too much because he didn't want to hurt the baby.  Well, at the doctors appointment he saw how rough the doctor was with my belly as he is showing us where the baby's head and butt were.  I am still amazed!  To be honest I can't tell the difference between the head and butt.  Ever since, Ryan is really enjoying shaking me around and waking her up.  After the doctor found her we listened to her heart beat.  He says, "154 bpm, perfect for a little BOY!"  He says this every time I go in but the look on Ryan's face was priceless!  Ryan  says,"Really?!  That would make me so happy.  The ultrasound lady did say she was only 99% sure."  I was laughing so hard.  The doc. looks at him and says, "I'm just being a smart a$$."  Gotta love him!!!  Totally made my day.  Oh and as the doctor is looking through my chart he says you look healthy and your weight looks great.  Thanks doc. because according to Ryan I've already gained 100lbs!  He said I'm not swollen either but by the end of a hot day I can feel my wedding ring.  So I decided to take it off.  Hopefully when the weather starts to cool down I will be able to wear it again.  I hate going without it!

Baby News
Movement:  Lots and lots of hiccups!  Especially since Ryan likes to wake her up.  Oh and there is A LOT of dancing on my bladder going on!  For some reason she also likes to wake up whenever Ryan goes to work(4am) or comes home from work(8am).  She must be like her daddy...if she's up then everyone else has to be too.

Sleep:  Yes.  Thank goodness.  I'm making up for last week.

Cravings:  No!  Nothing sounds good.  Not sure if its the heat or what but some days I don't eat much and then others I eat all day long!  Those days hurt.  I'm having a love/hate relationship with my belly.  On the outside my belly hurts from all the food and stretching but on the inside it says, feed me I'm starving!

Worries:  After last week, I am worried about burping.  Affraid I might throw up again!  And
DELIVERY!!!

28 weeks!

What a week it's been!  I found out Monday that I failed my glucose test by 1 point.  So I had to go in and have the 3 hour glucose test.  I wasn't looking forward to the 3 hour test.  I couldn't eat before the test and I could eat during the test.  That was the hardest part of it all.  They took my blood when I got there made me drink the sugary drink and then took blood every hour after that.  I have to say Rod(the lab guy) did a great job!  4 holes in my arms and no bruising.  I was hoping I wouldn't look like a junky afterwards.  It really wasn't that bad just boring.  It was all worth it though and I passed!!!  Yay!  I am so glad because I wasn't looking forward to watching my diet.  I've always had a sweet tooth but I haven't eaten too much the last 15 years or so.  In college they are just to expensive and then living with Ryan I didn't have to much either since he didn't like sweets.  But that has all changed the last month or so.  Ice cream, cookies, or some other dessert almost every day.  I am loving fulfilling my sweet tooth.

Not sure but my morning sickness might be back.  Last night we went over to a friends house after Ryan got off work.  I felt fine but the minute we pulled in the driveway I got sick!  I hadn't even turned off the car yet.  Ryan was already out of the car talking to his friend, thank God!  He turned around and asked me what I was doing.  I said I'm going home I just threw up!  SO embarrassing!

Baby News:
Sleeping:  NO!  Not sure if I was worried about the test or maybe still mad at the oil guy but I could not sleep a wink this week.  It didn't help that this little girl decided to be a night owl just like her daddy.  About 9p.m. every night she decides to party till midnight or later.  Bad news little lady cause Mommy is a morning person and we will be redoing this schedule you are on(I know wishful thinking).  And for some reason I am unable to take naps this week too.  I lay down hoping for a little one.  NOPE, not happening!
Cravings:  Dairy Queen
Movement:  Yes ALL night!  Lots of movement during the glucose test.  Poor little girl probably had a huge sugar high.
Worries:  Good bye 2nd trimester HELLO 3rd!  Holy cow!  I can't believe it.  I am so excited I can hardly stand it.  I never thought the day would come.  I know that her chances of survival are really good at this point but I still can't help but worry about a still birth.

27 weeks

I had my 26 week doctors appointment this week.  All went well.  I have only gained a few pounds and my belly measurements are the same as my weeks.  No growth spurt this month.  There is still a heart beat!  Our little girl was resting during my appointment so the doctor had to shake me around a bit so we could wake her up.  I think she takes after her Aunt Neelie and doesn't like to be woken up!  I had to have the glucose test.  The drink wasn't as gross as I thought it would be but all that sugar made me want to hurl.  I had to eat as soon as I left the doctors office.  They say no news is good news and I haven't gotten a call.  They said I need to start going every 2 weeks now.  Wow how time flies!  I can't believe we are that far already.
I don't have any good Ryan stories this week.  We did celebrate our 5th Anniversary though.  Oh, how time flies!  We have been through so much in our years together.  I am so glad they have brought us closer than ever.  I'm glad we are not one of those couples who aren't able to make it through trying times.  I love him more than ever and can't wait to see how great of a dad he is going to be.

Cake to the face!  Should have known then.

Baby News
Movements:  Still moving but the movements are starting to feel different.
Sleep:  Barely.  I haven't slept very good this week.
Cravings:  None!  I wish I was craving something because it would make eating a lot easier.  Now I just eat and eat and eat.  Nothing seems to satisfy me so I just have to keep eating till I find something that does.
Worries:  Will I ever be able to breathe again?  I think this might be one of the reasons I'm not sleeping so well.  I have had the pregnancy stuffy nose and my allergies.  I am also having nose bleeds.  I've had more nose bleeds in the last couple of months than ever.  Small price to pay and definitely worth it!

Thanks Grandma Linda for the baby gift!  I can't wait to use it!  I even thought about trying it out on Ryan but I know how well that would go.

26 Weeks!!!

Well not much happening this week.  Slowly but surely I'm getting things done around here.  Feels good to be tying up loose ends.  I ordered the baby bedding and it should be here the 1st of September!  I am having it made and can't wait to see it.  I also found some fabric to reupholster an old rocking chair we have and aren't using.  Sure hope it's done in time, the lady said they are 4 months out!  Yikes!!  So much to do still.
The other day Ryan and I were on our way to the store when we pulled up next to a car with a screaming baby.  Ryan said, " WOW that's a loud baby."  I said, "In a couple of months that will be us."  He looks at me and says, "What if we decide this isn't for us?!"  I said, "Well this is for me but feel free to ask the nurses about a return policy."  Oh how I am loving every bit of this!!!

Baby News
Sleeping:  Yes, getting a few good nights here and there.

Cravings:  Scotcheroos and Mexican food.  The other night  I ordered Guadalajaras' for us.  It is one of our favorites and it sounded so good.  It tasted pretty darn good too but unfortunately it gave me the worst heartburn!  I was up all night long popping Tums.  The next day Ryan and I had some chips and salsa and again the heart burn.  What was I too do?  I still had leftovers to eat and I was not about to let Ryan have them!  So for 3 days I have been dealing with acid reflux and heartburn.   Did I learn anything?  Nope,  we still have some salsa left and it's SCREAMING my name.

Movement:  Moving like crazy.  I feel her move off and on all day long.

Worries:  Not too many this week.  Feeling pretty good about getting stuff done.

Role of a Grandparent

Not to long ago I was informed it is the grandparents job to buy their grandchild whatever they want.  At first I didn't like this idea of my child getting spoiled.  Then the light went on...hmmm, really?!  So I recently visited my dad and decided to inform him of his role as a grandpa.  This is how the conversation went:
Me: Hey Dad, you know how I've been asking you to get me a horse for 30 years?  Well, I was informed that it's your job as a grandpa to get this baby whatever she wants and she wants a horse!
Dad:  (Chuckle) You were misinformed!!!

Dang!

Plan B:  I'm hoping that once he sees this baby girl he will change his mind and get me(I mean her) a horse!

25 weeks

Whew what a busy couple of weeks!  First things first, I am finally done working!!!  Yay Me!  Last weekend was super busy and I paid for it this week.  Last Friday was my last day at school.   I was busy trying to get all my stuff out of the school before the storm came.  Didn't quite make it!  After 4 years of teaching I had a car load full of stuff.  We went boating with some friends Saturday and then I went to Holden's 1st Birthday party on Sunday.  I think I pushed myself over the edge when I unloaded the car full of school stuff and laundry.  My belly has been killing me this last week so I've been taking it easy.  It would hurt to sit up and trying to get out of bed in the middle of the night to pee had me teary eyed.  Along with my stomach muscles tearing apart my back hurts too.  My chiropractor said I jammed my back.  So FEET UP!  Unfortunately I didn't get much done my first week off of work.
Some of you know that I got rid of my Acadia and my new rig is Ryan's pickup.  Yes, we have come along way in our marriage!  The pickup was like the 4-wheeler and John Deer,  LOOK DON'T TOUCH!  Now I get to drive it!  I am loving not having the extra payment especially with a baby on the way but I can see a few problems in the future.  First,  there is a height difference between the pickup and I.  I know hard to imagine.  Ha ha!  I've requested some running boards because it won't be much longer before I can't get into the thing!  Apparently we won't be getting those anytime soon because they will make the pickup look weenie.  Second, Ryan has added so much crap to the truck and it's a long box so we have to park it just right in the garage or it won't fit.  Not kidding!  Most people use a tennis ball to tell them when to stop.  Not us.  Stop when you hit the wall!  There isn't even a spare inch between the house and garage door.  Well my first day of driving it I discovered a problem.  There is about a foot of room between the pickup bed and the wall where the garage door is and that is the only way to get to the drivers side.  Lets just say it's a tight squeeze now!  So I talked to Ryan about this problem when he got home.  He didn't understand what I was saying and said he would move some of the spare tires out of the way to make room.  Then I told him the tires aren't the problem and asked him to move the wall.  I knew he knew what I was talking about then because he started laughing.  So this is my fear at this time:  I am going to go into labor while Ryan is at work.  I'm going to have to get out a ladder to get myself into the passenger side of the pickup because I won't fit around the box to get to the drivers side.  Then I will have to shimmy myself across the seat to the drivers side.  All while having contractions!

Baby News
Sleep:  Sometimes.

Cravings:  Fair food!  I saw a commercial and now that's all I want.  Unfortunately the fair won't be here for another month or so.

Movement:  Tons!  I am feeing more movements instead of punches and kicks.  They feel so weird. They almost tickle and make me laugh.

Worries:  Oh so many!
The pickup.
One worry that I've had for a while is vaccinating.  I read a book at about 13 weeks and ever since have been a little freaked out.  I've been trying to get info from doctors for both sides so we can make an informed decision.
My wedding ring.  Don't think it will be long now!  It's feeling a little on the snug side.  I don't want to take it off but would rather take it off than have it cut off.
My belly button!  Seriously what is going on with it?!  I know I am gaining weight and stretching.  I can handle that but what I'm having a hard time handling is my belly button.  It's still an inny!  But it is starting to look like the grand canyon.  I can't see the bottom!

23 week belly picture

Ok, so for Father's Day I was looking at some old pictures of Dad.  As I was looking at some of the pictures I couldn't help but think of how much I look like dad.  For a while now I've been describing my belly as a mini keg and not the cute little pregnancy belly.  Now you can see why...

I inherited the beer belly!!!
YEP, I sure am my father's daughter.

22 Weeks Dr. Appointment

I had my Dr. appointment this week.  We started the appointment discussing my "growth spurt".  Ok so I've gained a few pounds and I think most of it was this last week.  Lets just say I had more than a couple s'mores last weekend.  I couldn't disappoint the kids.  They kept wanting to roast marshmallows and no one else wanted any.   So I took one for the team.  Last night didn't help either.  I had a couple of helpings of macaroni salad.  Yikes, 18 more weeks!
So after discussing my weight gain the doctor measured my stomach.  Apparently the baby had a growth spurt too!  The belly measurement is supposed to match(or close to) how many weeks you are.  Well, I am 22 weeks and my belly is measuring 28!!!  I think the doctor saw the look on my face and reassured me that doesn't mean I'm going to have a big baby.  I told him that I'm holding him to that.  That explains why I can't breath these days.
Ok now for the good news...there's a heart beat!  140 beats per minute.  My blood pressure is down!
The appointment went well despite our "growth spurt."  I know I have no control over the weight gain but seriously who wants to see the scale hit numbers I've never seen before.  I know, better get used to it!  The next doctors appointment is the glucose test.

Apparently I wasn't too upset about my weight gain because after my appointment I went straight to Dairy Queen.  Unfortunately(or maybe fortunately) Dairy Queen isn't open at 10 o'clock in the morning!

22 Weeks

It's been a pretty good week.  Nothing real exciting happened.  I'm starting to realize I only have 2 more weeks of work.  With the reality hitting me, I'm starting to freak out about how much there is to get done at home and at work.  My to do list is growing daily.  Along with the growing to do list, I've started nesting!  Well, at school anyway.  After sitting outside in the sun with the kids all day and cleaning I am exhausted by the time I get home from work.
Ryan is still amazed by my growing belly.  The other day he tried to be "helpful".  He came home from work and decided I looked rather big.  So he had me adjust the length of my shirt because pulling it all the way down made me look bigger.  By the end of his adjustments his advice was to wear shorter shirts that weren't so tight(cause tight makes me look bigger too)!  Who knew Ryan had so many hidden talents!
A couple of days ago, I weighed myself and decided to ask Ryan how much he thought I had gained since my last Dr.'s appointment(3 weeks ago).  He looked at me not sure he should really answer.  After some time he finally said 15 lbs!  After all that thinking he was doing he was trying to come up with an answer that wouldn't hurt my feelings.  So I know 15 lbs. was on the low end of what he was really thinking.  I had only gained 3 lbs. but I guess we will find out who is closer at our next appointment Wednesday.

Baby News
Sleep:  Finally I had my first good night sleep since I can't remember.  Thanks to my friend Cassie for letting me borrow her body pillow!  What a difference it is making.  Thanks Cassie!

Cravings:  Cold drinks and FOOD.  The other morning I woke up at 2 a.m. to pee.  I tried to go back to bed but apparently it was "twirl and kick your Mom like CraZY time"!  Then I realized I was starving.  After an hour of laying in bed I decided to get up and eat something.  I was able to fall back to sleep but woke up starving again.  It didn't matter what I ate that day, it was never enough!  My meals turned into 4 course meals and my snacks turned into meals.  I was starting to worry that's how the rest of the pregnancy would be but the next day I was back to normal.  Sadly, the real reason I was worried about all the eating was because I didn't wan't to wake up in the middle of the night to eat!  Seriously, how would Princess Mindee be a princess without her beauty sleep?!

Movement:  She's still moving!  She either really loved or hated mowing the lawn the other night.  I'm not sure which but there was a lot of movement!  Now that I think about it, she was probably sleeping since she likes to party like a rockstar at 2 a.m.  I probably woke her up with the loud and bumpy mower!

Worries:  I need a clean house!  NOW!!!  I can't bring a baby home to this filthy place!  I am trying to figure out how I can tear out the carpet and put wood floors in.   Well, not  really.  I'm really trying to figure out how to convince Ryan that it's a good idea(or even his idea) without him freaking out but before I freak out and rip it all up while he's gone.

21 Weeks!

It's been a pretty big(in more ways than one) week for Ryan and I.  The last couple of weekends Ryan and I just happened to have eaten at the Edgar Bar with a couple of friends.  They have great steaks!  Well, this week Ryan is working days and one night he came home and said, "Holy crap, you've gotten twice as big in the last 2 days!  No more eating out for you!"  Last night when he got home, he said, "You just keep getting bigger everyday."  He said every night he has come home this week he's shocked at how big my belly has gotten!  I hate to say it but,  he's right!  My belly has been stretching like crazy this week!  Along with the stretching came the hunger.
The other big event for me was that I finally went shopping for the baby.  A HUGE moment for me personally.  I was naive my first couple of pregnancies and bought somethings that I thought were cute right after I found out I was pregnant.  Those items have been sitting in the closet just torturing me for the last couple of years.  This week I decided to bite the bullet and I bought a few things.  Easy does it!  I was holding out for a cute outfit that I just had to get her but I couldn't find anything.  So I decided to get a few necessities just hoping to make things a little more real for me.
This was a big week for Ryan too.  Last weekend he admitted to friends that he's starting to freak out.    Well the next day he and I did a little shopping online.  He noticed I was looking at baby stuff so he wanted me to tell him how much things cost.  I felt like I was a kid again asking Dad for money.  You could just see his blood pressure rise.  I thought he was going to have a heart attack!  On the other hand it was hilarious seeing the shock on his face.  Later in the week, Ryan told me he couldn't sleep the night before because he had a bad dream.  So I asked him what his dream was about. He said he had a dream that he passed out during delivery, cracked his head open and had to get stitches.  Me being the super supportive wife I am, laughed so hard I almost fell out of my chair and said, "I've had that same dream!"

Baby News
Cravings:  Pizza and 7-layer bean dip.  The other night Ryan decided he was going to make dinner.  He had me pick up pizza on my way home from work.  When we were done eating pizza I was putting the leftovers in the fridge and decided 7-layer bean dip sounded good.  As I sat down to eat my bean dip he looked at me and said, "SERIOUSLY?!"  Turns out it's a lethal combination for HEARTBURN!  and yet I still must have them.
Sleeping:  No, bad back pain and my tossing and turning is keeping Ryan up too
Kicking:  Baby is kicking more and more.  Hopefully Ryan will be able to feel it soon!
Worries:  Non this week

Our first baby present!  A girl from school bought us some baby shoes.  They are so cute and I thought it was so appropriate coming from her since at the old age of 4 she already has a shoe fetish!

20 Weeks

Half way there!!!
What a long week.  I only have 7 kids for summer school and they just aren't keeping me awake.  It doesn't help that I am on a caffeine free diet these days.  I also got a new girl and she likes to think she is the boss.  So I put her in timeout to show her who was really the boss and unfortunately she's a screamer!  She is a daily reminder for me of things to come.

I don't even want to get started on Ryan this week!  All of a sudden he is an expert on raising children.  Each day he is coming home with these bright ideas he has.  The Do's and Don'ts according to Ryan.  For example:  we recently received a birth announcement in the mail with pictures of a NAKED baby on it.  Very cute but I was informed it was disgusting and we will not be doing that.  He doesn't want to see a naked baby especially with an umbilical cord looking all gross!  So our baby will be clothed at all times and I am to cover up the baby when Ryan walks in the room.  Oh, I can't wait to burst his prefect world bubble that he lives in!  I am thinking I need a vacation after the baby is born. ;-)  I know(well I'm not 100% because Ryan is a unique individual but I hope) Ryan will see the light when the day finally comes but for now I am enjoying the entertainment along the way.

Baby News
The baby seems to be enjoying food these days.
Hello HeartBURN!  Anything and everything is giving me heartburn
Cravings:  Popsicles and blended drinks
Movement:  Mostly after lunch and at night
Sleep:  No more naps and not sleeping very well at night
Worries:  Although it has been extremely chilly around here I am beginning to worry about the summer heat.  I think I may need to buy a wading pool.  I hope the neighbors don't mind the beached whale!

18 Weeks It's a ....

Today we had our 2nd visit with the new OB.  Today we found out if we were having a boy or girl.  We went in for our ultrasound and the baby had grown so much since the last time I had seen it and it didn't seem to be moving.  Well the lady was zoomed in on its head!  I was starting to freak out and asked her if there's a heart beat.  She checked and there was!  I started crying (as I always do when I hear the heart beat) and it was Ryan's first time ever hearing the heartbeat.  I was so glad he was there!  After doing some measurements of the baby she told us we are having a...GIRL!  More tears until Ryan asked her how sure she was, then I wanted to smack him and laugh all at the same time.  She said she can't be 100% but she was 99.9% positive it's a GIRL!

While we were alone waiting for the doctor Ryan blurts out, "Holy **** we're having a baby!"  Yep sounds like he's ready!

After the ultrasound we sat and talked to the doctor.  Ryan's first time meeting him!  He told us the baby looks great and healthy but I on the other hand have high blood pressure.  I'm not too worried since I've been a little stressed every time I go to see him but he wants to watch it anyway.  We also talked about some symptoms I had been having and the doc. said that I shouldn't cook, clean...(joking) and Ryan looked and him and said, "I want a new doctor!"  I think they hit it off! :-)

I am so happy that Ryan finally got to see the baby.  I think it made it more real for the both of us.

Baby GIRL due October 29th!

17 weeks

Ok, a quick update.  I'm 17 weeks and still going strong(I think).  Everything seems to be going well.  I'm eating more and sleeping less, a lot less.  I'm not getting my daily nap and nights are interrupted by frequent trips to the bathroom and I can't get comfortable from back pain.  Belly is growing.  I don't think I look pregnant I think I look like I've been drinking a little too much beer.  I don't have the cute little baby bump I have the mini keg look going on.  Either way I'm unable to button and now even zip my work pants!  One day last week I came home so uncomfortable and irritated that my pants kept falling down that I almost threw away all my pants.  So I'm now wearing prego pants.  They're a little big still but soooo much more comfortable!  I can't wait for some nice weather so I can start wearing some stretchy skirts!

New OB

I had my appointment today with my new OB.   He was fantastic.  I think he could see how nervous I was and decided to do the ultrasound first.  He spent a lot of time with the ultrasound showing me how healthy the baby looks.  He tried to get me a good 3-D picture but baby wasn't cooperating.  He did a great job calming my nerves and told me he would do an ultrasound anytime I  had any concerns.  He was also very positive and told me I need to start telling people.  I'm not quite sure I am ready for that yet.  I know I don't have much time before people start noticing but I almost have a panic attack thinking about it.  The appointment went great and on June 1st we will hopefully find out if we are having a boy or girl!  4 weeks!  Hopefully Ryan will be able to take the day off to go with me.  It will be his first appointment and I can't wait for him to hear the heartbeat and see the baby move.
Made it to the 2nd Trimester!!!!!

Personality!!!

Lately I have been starving by the time I get off work so I have been eating dinner around 5 and by 9pm I am starving again.  So last night I was tired and just wanted to go to bed so I made myself a light snack and went to bed.  This morning I woke up so hungry!  Because of the thyroid meds. I can't eat for half an hour after I wake up so I usually end up eating when I get to work.  Well just as I was getting ready to walk out the door for work I had to run to the bathroom.  It just hit me and fast.  I haven't gotten sick in weeks!  It was horrible and hurt so bad because I've been having round ligament pains all weekend!  Sorry to much info but all that came up was water(proof I was STARVING).  I got this funny feeling that this was the babies way of saying,"Hey you idiot this is what you get for not listening to me and feeding me when I'm hungry!"  It made me think of my brother and the fits he would throw when he was hungry.  Boy oh boy, I think we have a feisty one on our hands!  ;-)

Lesson learned:  EAT when hungry!

Happy Easter!

I've made it farther than ever...13 weeks today!  Starting to feel less tired.  I only need a nap every other day! ;-)  I'm not as sick but still don't have much of an appetite.  I've lost more weight but hoping baby is still growing like a champ.  I've lost 5lbs. and was pretty freaked out about it this last week until Friday when a parent asked my partner teacher if I was pregnant.  She said she could tell because of some of the shirts I wore last week.  So apparently I'm loosing weight but my figure is um...rounding.  Not sure if that's good or bad news! :-)  The wait for my next appointment is killing me!!!  Trying to stay relaxed and praying everything is still good.  The last couple of weeks have been rough.  Week 11 was the week to beat and last week was the weight loss.  I was thinking of trying to get in to see a doctor early just for my sanity but have decided to practice what I preach.  At school I am always telling the kids no blood no bandaid!  Get up dust yourself of and keep playing.  So that's what I've been trying to do.  Now I only have 6 more days till my 1st appointment with my new OB.  It's been a long 28 days since my last ultrasound!  I'm a little worried about the first impression I might give my new doctor on Friday.  I don't think ultrasounds are a normal 1st appointment thing but I'm not leaving that office till I get one!  At least I can blame it on the hormones, right?!  So other than begin nervous and extremely impatient,  things seem to be going good. I know it's normal to be feeling better by this point but I was finding comfort in my sickness.  At least then I knew I was still pregnant without having to go to the doctor for reassurance.

11.6 weeks and Freaking Out!!!

I'm kinda freaking out this week. I'm officially the farthest I've been. Starting to feel different. Don't know if its just cause that's what happens at this point in pregnancy or if I'm just freaking out.  I'm just hungrier a little less tired. It all makes sense when you think about it but I was finding comfort in the sickness.  At least when I'm sick I still know I'm pregnant.  2 more weeks!

7 Viles of blood!

The other day after my ultrasound the doctor called.  As he was preparing my records for my new OB he noticed that some tests I was supposed to have done at one time never got done at the lab.  He asked me to go have my blood drawn again.  I went to the lab and they took 7 VILES of blood.  I was so sick I almost threw up.  I tried to eat but I just shook.  Anyway the result came in today and all looks good.  One of the test was for blood clotting which could have been bad for the baby.  Good news now just more waiting...

9 week ultrasound

I had another ultrasound today and everything is going great.  I am 9.6 weeks and baby is measuring 10.2 weeks!  Grow baby grow!!!  The babies heartbeat was 168 BPM this time.  My TSH levels are .9.  I lost a couple of pounds this week but my clothes are not fitting very well.

This is my last ultrasound with the specialist. I'm extremely nervous to have a new OB.  Every time I schedule an appointment with an OB something goes wrong.  And I won't be able to see the OB for another 4 weeks.  No more ultrasounds every 2 weeks.    Crossing my fingers and hoping I don't go crazy!
Trying not to stress.  Trying to eat these days.  I had to take a toaster to school this week so I could eat something.  Morning sickness is lasting all day long.  I am so hungry and I have to force myself to eat.  I take a bite and have to tell myself, "you're not going to throw up, you're not going to throw up..." and then I take another bite...  It takes me like an hour to eat!  Some things that make me sick right now are:  fish smells and cigarette smoke.  There is a parent at school who smokes and I run from him every time he walks in the building.

8 week ultrasound

There's a heartbeat!  There's arm and leg buds!  It's moving like crazy!  Ok so my 2nd ultrasound went fantastic today.  Except that my doctor and nurse practically did the happy dance when I told them I got sick Saturday night.  :-(  The doctor could see the heart beating fast but had a hard time getting the bpm because the baby was moving so much.  Once he got it he said it was super strong.  They like it to beat 120bpm at this point but the babys was beating 180bpm!  Sounds like a little Ryan to me...can't sit still and a racing heartbeat...no wonder I'm so sick! ;-)
So baby is doing great, me not so great.  Morning sickness has hit full force!  Sleeping like crazy.  Not eating much except for crackers and toast these days.
Ryan is finally realizing things around the house just aren't going to get done anytime soon.

There's a HEARTBEAT!

So my appointment went fantastic yesterday!  Yes there is a heartbeat!  And yes there is only one!  The doctor walked in and said, "we are all nervous".  Thanks doc. that's reassuring!  Then 2 minutes later he is practically screaming, "THERE'S A HEARTBEAT!"  I was speechless and all I could do is cry.  The baby is the right size which is fantastic because the last time I had a heart beat the baby was measuring small.  The baby had a heart beat of 124 and they like it above 110 bpm.  We heard the heartbeat and that sent me into hysterics.  I was trying so hard not to cry afraid it would ruin the ultrasound.  He printed me some pictures and said everything looks great.  I asked him if I should get my thyroid checked and he thought it was a great idea.  I'm so thankful he humors me!  So yesterday afternoon they called with my blood test results.  My progesterone levels were fantastic.  My thyroid was another story!  My anti thyroid levels were 81 and they are supposed to be 4.  Last summer when they found my thyroid problem my levels were 71, so it's gotten worse.  So I am back on my thyroid meds.  Last time I was on the meds. they worked so well that my levels went from 71 to .01 and it's supposed to be 4.  Which I had to stop the meds immediately because my levels were so low.  So I have hashimoto's thyroiditis and it is linked with miscarriages.  I hope the meds work this time.  I hope that we found out soon enough to make a difference this pregnancy.  So I go back in 2 weeks for another ultrasound and another thyroid test.  He said I could come in next week for an ultrasound if I felt the need but I told him I probably wouldn't since they seem to stress me out more. :-)   I'm extremely happy and praying we caught my thyroid soon enough.

If all works out we will have a new baby October 29th but I'm guessing we will have a little pumpkin for Halloween.

6 weeks and NerVouS

So I'm 6 weeks pregnant! I have my first ultrasound in a couple of days.  Hopefully this time we will see a heart beat!  I'm doing good so far.  I feel like I'm dreaming.  Like it's the first time finding out that I'm pregnant.  I'm hanging on to my blood test levels at 4 weeks and I'm not looking back.  With all my other pregnancies my HCG levels have never been above 120 so 311 is AMAZING!  Last pregnancy I was taking 1-2 pregnancy tests a week making sure I was still pregnant.  I feel really good about this pregnancy.  I was getting a little worried about Ryan though.  He hasn't said much the last couple of weeks.  And we all know how he freaks out about things like this.  But today, as I'm telling him I need a nap he says to me,  "I read somewhere that however the mother acts during the pregnancy is how the child is going to turn out.  So can you give our baby a chance?!  Get off your lazy butt so our child won't turn out to be worthless too!"  I laughed so hard I had to take a nap.
So I've been extremely tired, peeing a lot, extremely moody(poor kids at school), oh and Ryan is no longer allowed to eat Clam Chowder.  So far so good.

Blood Test

Today I had a Positive Blood Test.  My levels were at 311!  That is the highest they have ever been at 4 weeks!!!!!  The nurse was so excited and joked about possible twins.  I go in for an ultrasound in a couple of weeks.

Pregnant!

I started this blog to journal about my infertility treatments and a way for me to vent with all my raging hormones.  It seems that for the time being it will be about our recent positive home pregnancy test.
Today I took a test and it said PREGNANT!  I had a feeling I was pregnant and tried to take a test last weekend at 3 weeks and of course it said not pregnant.  Last night I had a couple CRAzY dreams and had to get up in the middle of the night to pee.  So after last weekends big fat NO I didn't expect much about this test.  I called the doctors office and left them a message.
