27 weeks

I had my 26 week doctors appointment this week.  All went well.  I have only gained a few pounds and my belly measurements are the same as my weeks.  No growth spurt this month.  There is still a heart beat!  Our little girl was resting during my appointment so the doctor had to shake me around a bit so we could wake her up.  I think she takes after her Aunt Neelie and doesn't like to be woken up!  I had to have the glucose test.  The drink wasn't as gross as I thought it would be but all that sugar made me want to hurl.  I had to eat as soon as I left the doctors office.  They say no news is good news and I haven't gotten a call.  They said I need to start going every 2 weeks now.  Wow how time flies!  I can't believe we are that far already.
I don't have any good Ryan stories this week.  We did celebrate our 5th Anniversary though.  Oh, how time flies!  We have been through so much in our years together.  I am so glad they have brought us closer than ever.  I'm glad we are not one of those couples who aren't able to make it through trying times.  I love him more than ever and can't wait to see how great of a dad he is going to be.

Cake to the face!  Should have known then.

Baby News
Movements:  Still moving but the movements are starting to feel different.
Sleep:  Barely.  I haven't slept very good this week.
Cravings:  None!  I wish I was craving something because it would make eating a lot easier.  Now I just eat and eat and eat.  Nothing seems to satisfy me so I just have to keep eating till I find something that does.
Worries:  Will I ever be able to breathe again?  I think this might be one of the reasons I'm not sleeping so well.  I have had the pregnancy stuffy nose and my allergies.  I am also having nose bleeds.  I've had more nose bleeds in the last couple of months than ever.  Small price to pay and definitely worth it!

Thanks Grandma Linda for the baby gift!  I can't wait to use it!  I even thought about trying it out on Ryan but I know how well that would go.

26 Weeks!!!

Well not much happening this week.  Slowly but surely I'm getting things done around here.  Feels good to be tying up loose ends.  I ordered the baby bedding and it should be here the 1st of September!  I am having it made and can't wait to see it.  I also found some fabric to reupholster an old rocking chair we have and aren't using.  Sure hope it's done in time, the lady said they are 4 months out!  Yikes!!  So much to do still.
The other day Ryan and I were on our way to the store when we pulled up next to a car with a screaming baby.  Ryan said, " WOW that's a loud baby."  I said, "In a couple of months that will be us."  He looks at me and says, "What if we decide this isn't for us?!"  I said, "Well this is for me but feel free to ask the nurses about a return policy."  Oh how I am loving every bit of this!!!

Baby News
Sleeping:  Yes, getting a few good nights here and there.

Cravings:  Scotcheroos and Mexican food.  The other night  I ordered Guadalajaras' for us.  It is one of our favorites and it sounded so good.  It tasted pretty darn good too but unfortunately it gave me the worst heartburn!  I was up all night long popping Tums.  The next day Ryan and I had some chips and salsa and again the heart burn.  What was I too do?  I still had leftovers to eat and I was not about to let Ryan have them!  So for 3 days I have been dealing with acid reflux and heartburn.   Did I learn anything?  Nope,  we still have some salsa left and it's SCREAMING my name.

Movement:  Moving like crazy.  I feel her move off and on all day long.

Worries:  Not too many this week.  Feeling pretty good about getting stuff done.

Role of a Grandparent

Not to long ago I was informed it is the grandparents job to buy their grandchild whatever they want.  At first I didn't like this idea of my child getting spoiled.  Then the light went on...hmmm, really?!  So I recently visited my dad and decided to inform him of his role as a grandpa.  This is how the conversation went:
Me: Hey Dad, you know how I've been asking you to get me a horse for 30 years?  Well, I was informed that it's your job as a grandpa to get this baby whatever she wants and she wants a horse!
Dad:  (Chuckle) You were misinformed!!!

Dang!

Plan B:  I'm hoping that once he sees this baby girl he will change his mind and get me(I mean her) a horse!

25 weeks

Whew what a busy couple of weeks!  First things first, I am finally done working!!!  Yay Me!  Last weekend was super busy and I paid for it this week.  Last Friday was my last day at school.   I was busy trying to get all my stuff out of the school before the storm came.  Didn't quite make it!  After 4 years of teaching I had a car load full of stuff.  We went boating with some friends Saturday and then I went to Holden's 1st Birthday party on Sunday.  I think I pushed myself over the edge when I unloaded the car full of school stuff and laundry.  My belly has been killing me this last week so I've been taking it easy.  It would hurt to sit up and trying to get out of bed in the middle of the night to pee had me teary eyed.  Along with my stomach muscles tearing apart my back hurts too.  My chiropractor said I jammed my back.  So FEET UP!  Unfortunately I didn't get much done my first week off of work.
Some of you know that I got rid of my Acadia and my new rig is Ryan's pickup.  Yes, we have come along way in our marriage!  The pickup was like the 4-wheeler and John Deer,  LOOK DON'T TOUCH!  Now I get to drive it!  I am loving not having the extra payment especially with a baby on the way but I can see a few problems in the future.  First,  there is a height difference between the pickup and I.  I know hard to imagine.  Ha ha!  I've requested some running boards because it won't be much longer before I can't get into the thing!  Apparently we won't be getting those anytime soon because they will make the pickup look weenie.  Second, Ryan has added so much crap to the truck and it's a long box so we have to park it just right in the garage or it won't fit.  Not kidding!  Most people use a tennis ball to tell them when to stop.  Not us.  Stop when you hit the wall!  There isn't even a spare inch between the house and garage door.  Well my first day of driving it I discovered a problem.  There is about a foot of room between the pickup bed and the wall where the garage door is and that is the only way to get to the drivers side.  Lets just say it's a tight squeeze now!  So I talked to Ryan about this problem when he got home.  He didn't understand what I was saying and said he would move some of the spare tires out of the way to make room.  Then I told him the tires aren't the problem and asked him to move the wall.  I knew he knew what I was talking about then because he started laughing.  So this is my fear at this time:  I am going to go into labor while Ryan is at work.  I'm going to have to get out a ladder to get myself into the passenger side of the pickup because I won't fit around the box to get to the drivers side.  Then I will have to shimmy myself across the seat to the drivers side.  All while having contractions!

Baby News
Sleep:  Sometimes.

Cravings:  Fair food!  I saw a commercial and now that's all I want.  Unfortunately the fair won't be here for another month or so.

Movement:  Tons!  I am feeing more movements instead of punches and kicks.  They feel so weird. They almost tickle and make me laugh.

Worries:  Oh so many!
The pickup.
One worry that I've had for a while is vaccinating.  I read a book at about 13 weeks and ever since have been a little freaked out.  I've been trying to get info from doctors for both sides so we can make an informed decision.
My wedding ring.  Don't think it will be long now!  It's feeling a little on the snug side.  I don't want to take it off but would rather take it off than have it cut off.
My belly button!  Seriously what is going on with it?!  I know I am gaining weight and stretching.  I can handle that but what I'm having a hard time handling is my belly button.  It's still an inny!  But it is starting to look like the grand canyon.  I can't see the bottom!

23 week belly picture

Ok, so for Father's Day I was looking at some old pictures of Dad.  As I was looking at some of the pictures I couldn't help but think of how much I look like dad.  For a while now I've been describing my belly as a mini keg and not the cute little pregnancy belly.  Now you can see why...

I inherited the beer belly!!!
YEP, I sure am my father's daughter.
